REVERSING CAMERA

Ok I have a 17 plate DS5 Performance 180BHP, was the owner of Tourewr until recently and loved my reversing camera. The Performance line does not have one, does anybody know whether the wiring etc would be in place and all ai need to do is to purchse a camera and get it installed, plus connected up to the system to get picture on screen. Thanks]

No unfortunately not. The wiring harnesses are different for the camera option.

But if you pop your VIN up I will be able to confirm for you.

Ok, confirmed - there was a change of design and your particular design, didn't feature the camera. The wiring looms are different for the other design that did have it.

Just been thinking..............If I purchased a camera to go on rear would that be able to be connected to the screen systenm already in the car and be worked off the reverse gear when selected?

Impossible to tell - some RT6 units did not even have the hardware internally for a camera option there are at least 4 video input pins on one of the RT6 Connectors - but these are dependent upon version of the RT6. The data would be supplied by the parking assistance ECU in any case I suspect.

Not the answer you are looking for but you can buy a wireless retrofit reversing camera for less than £100.

You can get them for about £20 with WiFi to your phone.
