Removing the back Door from a berlingo Mk 2 multispce 2004

Post by nevajims »

Hi

I want to remove the back door from my berlingo multispce mk 2 (2004) the mechanical side looks straight forward but im not sure about the electrical - you would think there would be a plug somewhere but the just seems to be a rubber gator which has wires under and no plugs in sight- any tips would be welcome!

Thanks
Jim

It will be per of the rear / tailgate wiring loom for operation of the locking and lights and any reversing sensor pack you may have. Put your VIN up here and I’ll be able to put a diagram up of the wiring loom layout.

Hi Jim

Ok, so here is the main diagram for the rear harness:
Blingo Rear Harness B.PNG
Rear Tailgate Harnesses
I haven't included the rear obstacle detection loom, as you don't have it fitted. So as you can see there is a right and left hand loom. These may be tied back into the one sleeve, but there are separate ones for the left and right lighting clusters.

As you can see these should terminate at the clusters in wiring plugs that you should be able to remove (just remember to label them up before removal as they'll surely become mixed up and you don't want to be having any electrical issues).

Getting all the plugs off might mean having to dismantle some of the trim to get at the heated window wiring, the third high-level brake light, the number plate wiring and of course the locking wiring in the tailgate.

The 'putting it back together again' episode may be a bit more of a challenge with threading the wiring, assuming you are replacing the tailgate.

I did actually strip back the trimming to look for these plugs but if they exist they are not in accessible positions, the wires go in to ducting areas in the car- so the only way I can see to replace the door is cut the wires and rejoin- surely there must be a better way? done the tinting but its a bit of a mess- will have to redo again with strips
