CItroen C 5 BSM and lost of height

Unread post by robertc5 »

Hi everybody, my 2006 Citroen C5 1.8 i, did not start , it was towed to the repair shop they were not able to fix it, but the car lost its height while being at the shop, the spuspension is at the minimum, is it normal?, the battery was dicharged by repetitive starting up without a success, in the second repair shop, they wanted extreme amount of money after diagnostics, so I told them to do what is necessary to start up the engine, they told me that they need to exchange the BSM, my question is if the broken bsm-fuse fox right to the battery and discharged battery can cause the lost of height. Thank you very much!

A couple of things.

If the battery is flat then the pump won't operate of course. If the battery has gone flat, then it may require the keys to be resynchronised before it will start again (or the motor will just turn over and not start due to the immobiliser).
There is a Maxi Fuse in the engine Fusebox (BSM) MF8 (40 Amp) that supplies the suspension pump motor. So woth checking that first - but the BSM itself doesn't control the suspension ECU - it's just the Maxi Fuse which is on a separate panel under the BSM unit.

I wonder if they have used the correct approach to disconnecting the battery if they have done that - and allowing it to become so discharged is going to ruin any diagnostics, official or otherwise.
