C5 X7 mkIII 3.0hdi Exclusive Tourer heater/preheater?
Hi we've got a C5 3.0hdi v6 tourer, and ive noticed its taking a while (~5-8 miles) to heat up, I was wondering if this car has a preheater, and if it does where is it located? The car eventually makes temperature and stays there, so I son't think its the thermostat, it just takes too long to get to temperature. Any info like wiring diagrams, component layout for the coolant system, position of parts etc would be greatly appreciated.

I'll need your VIN to determine options.

I think both my 2.0. Hdi's have them, warm air in a couple of minutes, most PSA cars seem to have them, they are electrically powered so there could be a fault but never experienced one myself, the 406's had them as well.

No webasto as standard on HDi240 for warmer climate, I think. Not at least on mine which is sold new in Austria. Engine takes a while to heat up, because it´s a big lump of iron and fuel consumption is quite low. I´ve got russian Binar (Webasto/Eberspächer alternative) installed along with Defa´s electrical water-heater for pre-heating purposes.

Are we talking about engine or cabin temperature ?
It does take a little while for the C5 X7 to get its engine upnto temperature as measured by the instrument panel but the cabin will heat up quite quickly in my experience, ok both experiences are with HDI engines but nothing out of the ordinary, i actually think the ones i have driven warm up cabin wise pretty quickly

I think he means engine temp. Cabin heating will be quite rapid due to the air heating resistance system used on these.
