Not surprised. Diesels have taken a larger share of the market and burn less fuel, so they are taxed more highly to pay for wars etc. Our Government are a bunch of legalised thieves who should be first against the wall come the revolution! That being said, I have not found any reference to this tax rise.

the amount of money they take in tax on fuel is beyond unbelievable! the garages themselves only get about 1p a litre or something and the raw fuel costs about 20p, rest is all tax!
