finding parts for my c15 600d champ

Unread post by markstansfield »

HI,

I have just bought (3 months ago) a Citroen C15 champ 2001 with a 1.9 diesel. I need various parts but i am really needing CV joint kits etc

Where can I buy them from/ Is there anyone on the forum who deals in parts?

I am based in Kendal but travel UK wide so pick not a problem

All help greatly appreciated

Best Regards

Mark

Hi, and :welc: to the forum. To make sure you get the right part numbers please could you post up the VIN here. It will be automatically obscured (so only forum staff can then read it), and it will allow a Moderator to look up your vehicle details and the correct parts it needs.

The driveshafts are no longer available new, but the gaiter kits are:

Pick the numbers of the parts you want and I'll be able to get you the part numbers that you can then search with on the aftermarket or buy from the dealer.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

Assuming its just the Gaiter you need, its really quite easy to get those on eBay, I've used vendor j_r2006 recently enough that I could readily find my most recent purchase.

or go to your local Motorist Shop / Factor.

if you're new to the job, make sure you've got:-
A suitably large socket to undo the Hub Nut (35mm on mine, could well be the same on yours, but check)
Likewise, a suitably strong Bar, it'll be tight
Either a splitter or a big Hammer and a reasonably good aim to 'break' the ball joint (I used to use the Hammer method, but I now favour a splitter)
A fitting cone, you won't get it on without one

Loosen the Hub Nut before you jack it up else you'll swear (least you will if you're anything like me) and have an assistant in the van holding the Brakes on, engine running's best for some servo assistance.

And if its the Passenger Side one you're doing, DON'T pull the Driveshaft out the box. Have a catch tray beneath the fitting into the box in case you accidentally do. A big puddle of smelly Gearbox oil will result if you do. Have I made that mistake myself? Me, not me, I'm innocent I am.... not!! What do you think?!

Mine's a 405 with the same lump, much the same set up.

...oh and I favour having a stash of spare Ball Joint Gaiters to hand, its everso easy to split it in the course of getting the Ball Joint 'broken'.

Hi Marc and Puxa,

Thank you for replying to my post. I need the drive shafts - the bearings have failed so I need to find these.
Thanks for the tips on having a cone and spare ball joint gaiters.

All the best

I am a mechanic but after reading good things about Savoy garage I took my van there.
What a star - Malcolm did job in a couple of hours- he lent me a car gave me details of a great cafe. I went had a big breakfast came back and all done. Brilliant.
Thanks Malcolm
