Faplite, any more information?

Unread post by Peter.N. »

I have seen this diagnostic system mentioned but one or two, does anyone know if it can reset the Eolys light on a C5? or is there anything else other than a Lexia that will?

Thanks

AFAIK only Lexia will. FAP lite is very useful but it won't reset that.

Sorry more questions. There is a 'dedicated' ELM27? for this programme which is dearer than the norm, is this the one I want? Also there are free and paid for downloads - what is the difference?

Some of these provide limited functionality or are brand specific, with more marques costing additional, but I seriously would not go near it for PSA vehicles and stick to Diagbox if you want near dealer level functionality.

Thanks Marc

The problem is I have Lexia but can't get it to work properly (ongoing problem) so unless I can get some assistance with it I need to try something else.

Peter

They do make a PSA specific ELM module

I'm sure Gibbo had one of those PSA COM units and I didn't think he got on with it IIRC.

Peter i know its a trip out for you but if you are around my area feel free to bring your Lexia and leads with you and i am more than happy to see if we can get it up and running, and SWMBO still likes the look and colour of your X7 even though we are getting a Black one

Thanks for that Colin, would be much appreciated, won't be for a week or two. A might have a silver one as well next time I see you, perhaps I had better come in that.

Sounds like the pair of you are trying to corner the second hand X7 market between you! Know something we don't?

:-D I have at last found a modern car with a good ride and really nice to drive, the wife loves it and it just so happens that her 406 estate has just died, so guess what she wants as a replacement?

I don't usually pay more than about 400 pounds for a car but as we are getting on a bit and don't know how much longer we are going to be able to drive I thought we would make the most of it and squandered some of our pension fund, also having two cars the same makes fault finding easier as I found with the 406,s.

I'm going to downsize soon, looking for a smaller cheaper to run 5 door hatchback as I really have no use any more for a big estate, a couple I've seen are Nissan Note and Mazda 2 or 3.

Anyone interested in a C5 II estate the recent history of which can be seen in these forums might bear it in mind.

We have always run big estates Gibbo, my work as TV engineer demanded it, in those days anyway, we also have a German Shepherd (dog) that comes everywhere with us, we also tend to use the car for moving things, furniture, carpets car engines etc.

The wife is quite used to driving big cars and loves the C5 and the running cost is not to bad, driving at 60 mph on the motorway as I do, returned well over 70 mpg when we went to Yorkshire a few weeks ago.
