Berlingo starter motor location?
Hi guys. Sorry if this question makes you groan, but can anyone tell me where the starter motor is located on my berlingo multispace 2.0 hdi? Its a 2005 model. Ive taken out the airbox but still not sure where to look. Thanks.

Some of these are at the back of the engine block. I don't have your VIN for the Blingo - that might help.

in front of the gearbox , Near side (left hand side as you sit in the driver's seat). Held in by 3 bolts. Not too bad to change, helps if there's two of you to wriggle it out past the pipes at the front if your Berlingo has aircon. Done a couple, easy as pie.
Fit one of the "high powered" ones available off eBay, they're much better and will prevent any of the starting issues happening again. Beware - they usually have a different connector for the small wire, so you'll have to crimp a new connector on.

Thanks guys. Not too sure which the vin number is, but am posting some pics. The starter died whilst at work so I haven't been able to find time to have a proper look around. Will get on it tomorrow afternoon all bein well. Thanks again.![Image]()

Re: Berlingo starter motor location?
The VIN will be 17 digits long, comprising of numbers and letters. It will be in a few places (including the V5 logbook), such as the windscreen, sometimes on a wing just under where it meets the bonnet, or possibly under the rear seats. It may (MAY, mind) have the letters RHZ in it, near to the middle.

Re: Berlingo starter motor location?
Nooo James! It’s 17 alphanumeric!!! Not 15 and it will begin VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. Ignore those letters James mentioned, they will change engine to engine.
But forget all that, just pop the vehicle registration up and I’ll get it for you from that

Re: Berlingo starter motor location?
Corrected the number of digits, but I did say MAY with reference to the engine code, so that it gives numnuts an idea of what he is looking for, so that when he sees it, it is more obvious.
