I have trawled through the on-line manuals and downloaded that kindly uploaded by “GiveMeABreak” on the site but do not see a reference to where the Power-Steering LDS hydraulic oil Bleed Screw is located (or if such even exists).
Is anyone able to offer any help and guidance, please?

There is no bleed screw Bunny.
To bleed the Power Steering Circuit:

To bleed the Power Steering Circuit:
- Turn on the engine and let it idle for 2 to 3 minutes, without moving the steering wheel.
- Work the steering slowly, going from lock to lock in both directions, about ten times.
- Check the level when cold (engine off).
- Top up to the maximum mark (if necessary).
- Close the power steering hydraulic reservoir cap.

Re: C8 LDS hydraulic oil Bleed Screw location?
Thanks.
The fluid I topped up with is Comma LDS and described thus:
"Lds fluid is used in suspension, power steering and hydraulic systems. This synthetic formulation can be used in all applications that currently require Psa S71 2710 in certain PEUGEOT, Citroën, DS, SSANGYONG &toyota models. Comma oil and chemicals was founded on a real ‘passion for performance’ in 1965 as a UK-based, independent oil 'blender'. quickly establishing their products as being the first-choice Supplier of engine oils to independent workshop mechanics in the UK, Comma has recently grown to distribute to more than 40 other countries around the world".
I note the fluid you recommend has the following specification:
"Specifications:
PSA S71 2710
MAN 3289
Renault PSF Class 1"
Is that OK?

Yep, LDS fluid was the pre-runner to Total Fluide DA - I only used that name as it is the current name, so no problems

Re: C8 LDS hydraulic oil Bleed Screw location?
Now I’m confused !!
I was looking to top up my PAS fluid on my 2008 C8 173 the other day and used Total’s Lube advisor.
It came up with Total XLD3 or G3 ! So, what should I use ??
Oddly, the outside top of my PAS reservoir cap has always been a little damp with fluid yet this is the first time in over 150,000 miles it has dropped to the Min. Any ideas ?
Cheers

Re: C8 LDS hydraulic oil Bleed Screw location?
TOTAL FLUIDE DA.
You have to bear in mind the C8 had various power steering systems - some mechanical requiring different fluid and some electric (which is what yours is). You need Total Fluid DA. As usual, third party databases as useful as a chocolate teapot and they have got this totally wrong in that they have 3 types of the identical engine showing - yet fail miserably in distinguishing between them or the power steering systems.
The mechanical pumps used AT42 (but not for very cold countries or PENTOSIN CHF11S for very cold climates. For electro-pumps it is Total Fluid DA.

Thanks Marc.
You'd have thought that, with Total being Citroen's preferred supplier, they'd have got it right !!
Btw I guess you got my PM the other day ?
Cheers

Re: C8 LDS hydraulic oil Bleed Screw location?
Hi Anyone, but probably Marc
Sorry to drag this up again however I need to top up my PAS fluid just a little.
I see that the correct fluid for my electro hydraulic system is Total Fluid DA, however I see that LDS fluid was the pre-runner to Total Fluide DA.
I have some LDS fluid - will I be ok using that ?
Cheers
Julian

LDS and DA fluid are currently made to the same specification. So, yes, fine to use LDS in place of DA.

Many thanks for your quick reply. But it makes me wonder why Total bothered making both ??

Re: C8 LDS hydraulic oil Bleed Screw location?
Yes, they're the same Julian, both made to PSA S71 2710 specifications. I think as they began to use it for more and more of the power steering systems on PSA cars, and seeing as the 'LDS' name was synonymous with Citroen's later hydraulic suspension system fluid, they probably decided to change the name to break the link (and probably may have had something to do with the fact they had decided not to make any more hydraulically suspended Citroens after the C5 X7).

Just thinking about it, maybe DA stands for ‘Direction Assistee’ Ie Power Steering !!
