Hi All,
I have just joined this forum to get some advice on car problem. The car broke down recently which I believed was fuel issue so topped it up and once it fired up I went straight to local garage to have it read, I was told that few minor issues popped up but main issue was lack of communication from control unit to ecu which he said would probably need new fuse box?. On way home a de-pollution system fault warning came on dash and car started to drive with intermittent power. I suspected this may have been caused by running out of fuel so once got home I booked it straight on at citroen for full diagnostics check and they confirmed probably faulty sender unit in fuel pump but had no idea for other. They said it came up with same as before and also multiple misfires, I haven't noticed this but thought probably a timing issue? They quickly diverted the conversation to say valve timing and would need to take head off to check but I've not heard of taking head off to check timing. The thing is I had just had my timing belt changed with them so wonder if they have done it wrong? Anyway in regards to the fuse box I have been quoted £300 for a new 1 from citroen but is a lot of money if not the issue so was wondering if can use other fuse boxes or if all numbers must match? Only numbers on fuse box are 9658539480, BSM - LO4 - 00.
I have included my vehicle details incase helps:

Hi, and to the forum. You have done the most important thing, which is to post up the VIN. The next thing I would suggest is to get her onto a Lexia to determine what error codes are being generated. There are Forum members who have Lexia clones and are willing to help other members (although some on this list have 'gone quiet' and may not respond to a request). Here is the list;

If the error is something like engine ecu mute on CAN ignore it, very common and means nothing. I dont see that a fusebox failing would produce what you're seeing.
If however you have to swap the bsm over then you just match the numbers and plug and play. No programming needed.
I'd be very interested to know the fault codes that are present and also which return once they've been cleared.....

Re: Citroen 2006 C4 VTS fuse box enquiry.
Hi and welcome John.
So this is a C4 3 DOOR SALOON 2.0 i 16v 180 Manual gearbox 5
The correct part number for the engine fusebox is 6500CK. You must use the correct part or you will have problems. They don't need coding to the car. At this point I've just provided the answer to your question about the fuse box part number. You can get one for less than that: Eurocarcare have them for £162 plus shipping
https://www.eurocarcare.net/bulbs-fuses ... e-box.html
Of course there is no guarantee that will fix your issue. I would be more inclined to say you've dredged up some dirt from the fuel tank by letting it get too low - try running some fuel system cleaner through the car first and see if that improves things.

Hi Mark,
Thank you I will look at fuse box on link you added, I suspect that is issue so getting full engine clean done on car next week to check and will get service done as only done 2000 miles in over a year.
Thanks again

Re: Citroen 2006 C4 VTS fuse box enquiry.
Hi John
I can confirm the price and outstanding service from the link Marc posted.
I have a 2005 C4 1.4 which has the same fusebox. I had issues including needing to bypass the fuse box relay for the blower motor which lasted for over a year.
I broke down with mine and had all sorts of warnings on the display including depollution system, air bags disabled, would turn over but not start.
A new fuse box sourced from the link Marc posted took 20 mins or so fit, comes complete with fuses in place, everything is fine now.
Having done a fault reading before changing the fusebox i had many 100's of reported faults fuel pump error reading from engine fusebox .
hope you get it sorted but just get a diagnostic session report in your hands with fault codes so they can be explained to you on here without the pressure to buy a new part

Yes I will get 1 ordered as you just reminded me when looked in fuse box to get numbers I noticed something has been bypassed due to wire been joined to another wire in a basic way. Will try and find a citroen specialist garage to do diagnostic as the dealer here don't give codes out

Re: Citroen 2006 C4 VTS fuse box enquiry.
Be warned Citroen will charge you about £90 for a diagnostic! But even a third party garage may not get any codes as unfortunately the engine fuse box doesn’t have an ECU as such so will not record fault codes itself, but a faulty one can cause ghost problems.
