Hi,
C6 radio lost its voice. Seems to work fine but no sound at all.
Checked fuses and took radio out to take connectors off and back again.
No help. Any suggestions?

Re: C6 Radio no sound
Hi and welcome - please post up your VIN so I can determine exact options fitted - as it could be an amp issue (as a lot of these have factory amps or other). I'm consulting electrical diagrams so need specifics I can get from your VIN.

Ok, so you have the RT3 Head unit and the equaliser Amp as I suspected - leave it with me while I check it out...

Re: C6 Radio no sound
Ok, so first thing is to check out the fuse to the equaliser amplifier. I would check it with a multimeter and not just a visual check as these can burn out at the edges being hard to see.
It is in the passenger compartment fuse box (BH12) and is a 25 Amp fuse, F32 as per the diagram - should be fourth one up.

Re: C6 Radio no sound
Next if you have a Lexia, run a diagnostic check on it. If you are getting an FD3A fault code then that is an internal amp fault causing:
The system detects any occurrence of an internal error (Memory, processor…) Every 1.5 seconds (for a HARMAN model) or every 200 ms (for the PHILIPS).
- Malfunctioning of the audio adjustments
- No sound
- Malfunctioning of the adjustment of the sound quality of the equalisation effect
- Loudspeakers randomly cut out
- Impossible to put on MUTE

Thanks,
Have to measure fuse first. Last time just took it off to see if broken.
I try ask if I can borrow Lexia from someone
All the functions are just normal except volume knob in radio.
That does not work when you turn it. From steering column push buttons
are working.
Rgds,
Ilppo

Re: C6 Radio no sound
So are you saying you have volume control when using the remote buttons?

Yes in that way everything seem to be fine but no any sound.
Just measured that fuse and changed a new one.
Noticed there is no power in that slot (0,5V).
Is there some relay providing power to amp?

Re: C6 Radio no sound
So as you can see, the Amp power is via F32 as per my last post and this in turn is supplied my Maxi Fise 3 (MF3) in the engine fuse box.
But MF3 also supplies power to the Cabin Fusebox supply (BH12) - as we know, the front RH heated seat, the radio amplifier (F32), the Hydraulic Suspension ECU and the AM6 automatic gearbox. So if there was a problem with the supply, it would also affect these other systems.
So if you have no sound via the Head unit volume button and no sound via the audio remote on the steering wheel, then either the amp is faulty or the Head Unit - so you really need to get Lexia on it and do some tests / fault code readings.
8480 is the RT3 Head Unit
8408 is the Equaliser Amplifier

Thank you:)
I try to get one used head unit and try first with that one.
Think still need to "code" used one for my car.

Yes you will need to VIN code the new unit - if you can locate a used one - they are very hard to source nowadays.
