I am considering tuning my ZX when the weather is a bit dryer.
What is the maximum turbo boost pressure I can safely go to without significantly decreasing the life of my turbo/engine etc ?

Paul,
0.8 - 1.0 bar is stock for these engines. From what I have seen going much higher than 1.15 bar results in severely shortening the life of the head gasket. Do a search on the web for tuning 306 TDs as I think there is plenty of info out there.
Don't forget that if you're measuring boost pressure you need to do it with full load and engine over 3000rpm - eg hard hill climbing in 3rd.....

I thought full boost was produced by about 2000 rpm? Granted, uphill is necessary at full throttle to get max load...and max boost!
