C4 Grand Picasso C4 1.8 pertol 2008 - Oil

Unread post by babaton »

The oil low message appears regularly on my C4 so I regularly top it up.

I finf the dipstick very hard to read though, it always seems to show oil on the marker but I once took it for a service and was told it was completely empty.

How much oil should I be putting in, it take 5 liters I think but is there any way to tell how much is in there?

The only way to tell 'roughly' how much oil is in there is to drain and measure it. Not all will come out. When you say 'regularly top it up'. How much and how often? Is it parked on the flat? When you mention the 'marker', are you referring to the top mark or just somewhere in between the top and bottom marks?
I don't want to sound condescending but when you check the oil, do you wipe the dipstick clean first? Unless your oil is very very clean or the dipstick black it should be reasonably easy to see the level.

Notice the BX is still top the list but sadly gone

Pop your VIN up if you want the correct capacity.
