Hi folks,
My recently acquired C5 is excellent, but I have no front foglights. The bulbs are there, but when I try to switch them on there's no indication on the dash, or movement in the switch. When I turn the switch again, the rear ones light up. Is this a problem with the control stalk?
Thanks in advance,
David.

Does your Exclusive have HID dipped beam headlamps? If so then I'm fairly sure that foglamps were delisted on these models (my 2003 Exclusive was). If you have foglamps fitted then maybe a previous owner fitted them or possibly a complete front bumper? Has the car suffered frontal damage?

Hi Paul,
my Exclusive has xenon headlights which are much improved compared to my original 2003 Exclusive which expired at the beginning of the year - that had front and rear fogs. Even so, they're not as 'illuminating' as one fitted with foglights, if you see my point. There has been no damage to the car (its basically immaculate) but the front headlamps have the foglights fitted complete with bulbs. I'm presuming that they're all original. The curious thing is that the foglight control appears to have only one setting (rather than two) controlling the rear ones.

That's what I meant by the foglamps being delisted as an option. I was being led off track about the bumper as it's been a few years since the Mk1 went.
It always intrigued me that anyone would think that the height of the headlamp was a good idea for a foglamp anyway.

Confirmed - the MK I, where fitted with a Xenon headlamp and D2R bulb is not fitted with front fog lamps.

Duh - and Specsavers time!
I checked the car in daylight and you're correct and I'm absolutely wrong. This is the first C5 I've ever come across without front fogs. Oh well.
Thanks for the info guys.
