Cost of 2.1 TD Diesel Injection Pump !!!

Having laboured some months trying to resolve my poor starting problem; I finally gave in and let the garage remove my injector pump and have it sent off for recon.
Big shock today, the injection engineer informed the garage that my pump was irrepairable !
Even worse a new pump is going to cost [:(!] £870 [:(!]
Is this real !!!

I think the Xantia/XM Series 2(not early ones) may use the same pump, if that helps with searching for a good s/h replacement...

Lucas wanted £1400 for one when I asked them.
Try www.bba-reman.co.uk I got a recon one from them for £360+VAT. Good service too.
