In search for a COM unit that fits my car.

Unread post by WillyC8 »

Hi, I need a 96595091XT to replace exactly the one that's in my current C8 but I'm struggling to find one. I've heard from a couple of people that there are other part numbers that would fit. Would this for example 96595112XT? I installed a 96605635XT last year and it took out most of my dashboard electronics!
Thanks in advance.
Also heard there is a lexia database here but I can't find it. I'm based in Moretonhampstead Devon and have just purchased one so could be added.

First thing you need to do is post your VIN here - then we can get the correct part. Fitting the wrong one can cause multiple problems as you have found.

Thank you very much, glad I've finally found it. Been contacted by admin about the lexia locations.

Right so your C8 has a CAN VAN electrical architecture - so is important you have the correct unit.

The PSA part number is: 6242C6

These people do a full range of refurbished or new units - I've put the search in already for you: £140 refurbished or £200 new.

https://peugeotpartsforsale.com/index.p ... egory_id=0

These retail brand new at £354.89 inc. VAT from Citroen for an OEM one.

Thank you so much for your help. From 6242C6 I've found 8 other serial numbers that are listed under it. The one I tried before isn't listed so that's a good sign!

Probably going to go with 96605656XT as that seems to come up the most under 6242C6 on ebay. Is there anything I'm missing and I shouldn't?

It's just important that you make sure that it is identical to the OEM part - some sellers on the bay will just rope these together and hence all the problems.

Just found a forum post from 2012 confirming the part I have just purchased is the oem you stated and is interchangeable. At least 100 saved. Thanks again!
