Just introduced myself with viewtopic.php?f=21&t=62517]our Czech C5 Tourer
I have an October 2008 C5 Tourer Exclusive, automatic 6-speed gear, new type, 100 kW 2 l. HDiF engine.
VIN: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
I do have an ongoing "depollution system faulty" error problem but this week the "additive low" warning came up as well. My local garage is good at many things, but where not sure which additive to use, and also not if there are non-Citroen alternatives or if original is the only option (to their defense, they are specialized in Opel, and have not much good words for French cars, as I have not much good words for Opel - Vauxhal; an ongoing 20 year teasing game).
Q1: Which additive should I use for this engine and how much liters I need.
Q2: Is there a non-citroen brand alternative for the additive?
Q3: Given the same engines in the PSA cars, can I get the brand additive also from Peugeot? I don't particularly like the offical Citroen dealer, and they rip people off. The Peugeot dealer is much friendlier and sometimes cheaper on items.
Which additive - connection between additive and "depollotun faulty" error?

Ok, so your Tourer has a build date of 11634 (15th September 2008).
This means you additive tank should have Green Click Fit Connectors. If the light is on you probably need the 3 litre kit.
Your additive type is either Eolys 176 or Infineum F7995. These are the only types of additive that can be mixed. Do not use any other type of additive or you can block the pump.
These are available from either Citroen or Peugeot, but Walker do alternatives:
https://www.walker-eu.com/en-uk/walker- ... ves/eolys/
Walker Part number 80617 is the 1 litre kit, and 80618 is the 3 Litre kit. So if you search on these numbers 'Walker 80618' you should get the suppliers coming up.
It has to be filled by gravity using tubes and a net to hold the fluid bottle, The fluid gravity fills the tank once the tubes are connected, and after filling, the engine ECU will have to have the additive counter reset. This will normally require the dealer or a mechanic with a Lexia and Diagbox software to do.

surprisingly, online shops here in the Czech Republic have Walker. The Walker sells the 80618 (3 Litre kit) for around 60 GBP.

There is another kit. also from Walker, called Eolys 176 kit, 3l, code AD 12133 (could be local code) including three canisters, one is empty I think, but is about 110 GBP.

Specifications seem to be the same, just a selling gig?

No, not quite, one is Eolys 176 and the other is Walker’s equivalent additive, so you have a choice.

Was passing the Peugeot garage in nearby Ceske Budejovice and decided to ask for prices. Topping up eolys they do not do yet because they just moved into a new building the last weeks. However, they sell the 3 litre canister of Eolys 176. Price is 160 GBP..... Thanks but no thanks; I will order it online.

Re: Which additive - connection between additive and "depollotun faulty" error?
Bought the stuff online for 65 GBP, gave it to the garage, and for another 10 pound they filled the stuff and reset the counters etc. Actually seems the car is reacting a bit better and speedier now.
The one worrying thing, they remarked that to reset the counter and deal with the procedure, they actually "had to use the other PC" to get it done. Seems that the standard PC in the workshop used for diagnosing is less complete as a second PC with specialized software. Wonders if that influences also the diagnostics.
Whatever, we will see what happens, also with the "faulty depollution system" warning.
