Wife´s C4 remote-key needs replacement (physically damaged ic-circuit board and also case). I have diagbox.

Are there step-by-step instrunctions how to do this?

Which bits specifically?

Sounds like you'll need a new fob anyway, so surely a matter of just getting the new blade cut and programming with Diagbox?

Only thing that´s ok is blade. Lock-button at PCB is damaged and I don´t think it can be repaired (works but you have to press it very hard because there´s a bit missing on that button). Case is also damaged so that it won´t hold together without tape. I saw a video where it seemed very easy to change blade. Copying blade won´t be that expensive, though?

Would something like this work https://www.aliexpress.com/item/jingyuq ... st=ae803_3

What's the VIN on the C4? I know MikeT just bought an aftermarket fob for his and that worked fine - but I'll need to see if your Wife's C4 is the same unit first. There are just so many of these aftermarket ones that don't work, so if we can identify a decent replacement then that's half the battle. :)

The key blade can be easily swapped over from your old key, its just held in with a little pin that needs punched out. You have to position the key blade at the correct angle to see it.
Just be aware the one you are looking at comes with a VA2 blank blade, the C4 im sure uses an HU83 key blank, best to buy one with the correct blank incase you need to get one cut.
To program the key is straightforward, diagbox guides you through it, you will need your 4 digit security code & you need to program all the keys you want to work at the same time.

It is a VA2 blade in the C4 - but I need a VIN to confirm, as they changed them around the 2006 mark.

There are also 315 and 433 MHz versions for the same car, so we need to confirm.

No, that one only has 2 buttons, your original has 3 for the additional function.

Light-button isn´t working anyway, and it´s not needed, so two buttons are enough. :)

Probably not, i would guess there is some electronic wizardry involved in that means a 2 and 3 button remote are totally different and a 2 button remote will not work.

It is a Citroen remember :rofl2:

That might be the case - 2 button versions may well have different circuits that may cause an issue - maybe the faulty fob was the reason why the middle button wasn't working. I would get a 3 button one if it was me - just to avoid any hassle down the line if it doesn't work properly.

So this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/SIKALI- ... st=ae803_3

But ASK or FSK, that´s the final question?

EDITED: Fixed new link, 0523 is correct version, only modulation still bit unsure, I think it should be ASK.

Yes should be ASK modulation, but some of those Chinese jobbies are sold with both types that you can switch between ASK and FSK - sounds a bit dodgy to me.
