C3 1.6vti Exclusive Auto, Climate control issue.

Post by xero1 »

Hello everyone. Just registered as i have been trying to get to the bottom of an issue with my wife's 2011 Citroën C3 1.6 vti 120 Exclusive Auto. The car has electronic climate control and works intermittently, when it's very warm the compressor doesn't engage and the engine cooling fan doesn't run.
I've had the AC serviced and the gas is fully charged and the compressor tested.

My own suspicion is it could be a faulty temp sensor somewhere ie cabin or engine?

Happy for any advice you can give.

Cheers

Hi, and :welc: to the Forum. My suggestion would be to arrange for the car to have a Lexia session. This is a PSA specific diagnostic code reader that can understand French cars! Generic readers struggle with Peugeot/Citroen vehicles. There are forum members who have Lexia clones, and are willing to help out (although some of the said members have 'gone quiet'). Here is the list;

Be aware that the A/C system will be shut down if any fault is detected in the engine cooling system, such as a faulty fan or speed controller, or even the thermostat heater (if fitted). You really need to get all of the fault codes read for the A/C system and the engine ECU.
