What engine oil do I need for

C4 Picasso 1.6 HDi 2013 onwards ?

Silly idiot forgot to buy some oil for the change.

By the way... I got already in my garage

5 litres of 10W 40 Semi Synthetic, labelled as for use in petrol engines

tons of 5W 40 Fully Synthetic, labelled for use in petrol engines

Would either of these be any good to use in the diesel engine?

Ok, so you have the DV6C engine type, so if you scroll down the list to the Diesel Engines, look in the table and you will see an entry for DV6C and DV6UC. Go across the table and there are 2 oils that are OK for this engine: 0W 30 and 5W 30. So going back up to the climate grid, I would be using 5W 30 over here that protects from -30° C to +50 °C climates.

So I wouldn't use the oil that you have as it is important to use the right viscosity for the engine type.

You also need to make sure it's a C2 spec low ash oil.

From what can see then Total Quarz Ineo ECS 5W30 is the one to suit your engine.
Just one example - you may find it for less elsewhere - sometimes the dealer prices can be surprising.

I have used the Asda own brand fully synthetic oil in my cars, and it seems to do the job well;
