Berlingo 2.0 hdi cruise contol problem

Post by Raul »

The cruise control is erratic. Sometimes it works but more than often it does not. It seems to me that it has something to do with pedals. When I forced the clutch pedal more up with my toes sometimes it starts to work but as soon as I loosen the pressure to the pedal the cruise control switches off. So today I took off the clutch switch from the pedal and went to driving and pressed the switch manually to closed position and tried to activate the cruise control many times. One time I felt for a short time that it activated but only for a few seconds. So I put the switch back to the pedal and went to driving. It did not work anymore even if I added upward pressure to the clutch switch with my toes. When I reached to the down I tried it again and it worked again. My guess is that the clutch switch is defective although I also tried a second switch from the scrapped hdi xantia and it also did not made the cruise control work. Could anybody write here the OEM part numbers for both clutch and brake switch so that I can order a new one. The car is from 2003.

If you want the part number, you need to post your VIN here.

Might I suggest that, before you start buying parts and swapping them around, you find if there is somebody local to you with a Lexia/DiagBox system? That way (somewhere within the Injector menu) you can see what is happening when you press the clutch and brake pedals.

I would post up the Lexia map that is on the forum, but I somehow doubt there is anybody in Estonia who has a Lexia and offered their services.
