Hi All, had to open my COM 2000
to clean pcb tracks/contacts & replace the plastic sprung plunger. Not sure what to use to lubricate:
1) The indicator switch parts - had some mayonnaise looking stuff on it?
2) The plastic concentric cylinders around the steering column - had some clear stuff?
Thanks for any thoughts (as usual) - Alex.

Can't help with the grease spec but just a little warning about the COM 2000 for anyone taking that video for a guide, there are others that are much different to that and more difficult and delicate to strip and reassemble.

Well, in the absence of a recommendation I'm going to proceed with petrolerm jelly. If Vaseline FAILS I'll update this comment, otherwise assume it WORKS.

I wouldn't use Vaseline you can get potentiometer lubricant in electrical places like Maplins. Maybe a little bit of brake grease (not copper grease) or this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ELECTROLUBE- ... Swk5FUtpA5

Thanks for the info, good to know that product exists. I used the petrolem jelly sparingly so hopefully I won't be stripping it out again soon

I hadn't seen that, bought out and relaunched as an online retailer January 2019.
