Glovebox removal C5 2.2MK3 X7

Hi all im just putting a new brake switch on and need to remove the glovebox at first I thought it wud be easy but looks tricky anyone done this job please

These are the instructions that Marc very kindly sent me a couple of years ago.

I made some comments after the procedure as follows:

"First of all - the PDFs lie! The LHD and RHD procedures are NOT the same. Took me a while to figure out that the lid ram is not a mirror image of the LHD lid and I was wasting my time looking for it on the road side of the lid. It's on the right side of the lid although that didn't help me to unclip it.

"After I had taken the bottom hinge pins out I was able to lift the stay on the LH side out of the slot and then lower the lid (with the ram on the RH still in place) enough to undo the three screws along the bottom edge. Then I could manoeuvre the lid and glovebox out of the way. At that point the ram decided that it would unclip itself after all so I did end up with lid and box as separate items."

Thanks ive never known such a tuff job for a glovebox

ive managed to put the brake switch on with out taking the glove box out but I also wanted to have a look at all wiring under it to see if I can see anything that may help me with my EPS/ASR issue

I did wonder whether you really needed to remove the glovebox to do that job. Did you read somewhere that it was necessary.

Its because I wanted to have a good look at the wiring underneath just to see if I can see anything wrong related to my EPS..ASR issue
