BX TD Exhaust front mounting

Unread post by tomsheppard »

One for Jon, I reckon. (Thanks for the stickers and your good wishes, by the way.) The downpipe on my 17 Turbo is loose at the top where it joins the turbo. I suspect I'll need a new clamp. Either GSF's online shop doesn't seem to list the correct part or I can't identify it from the description. Is it the "Brillo Ring" type of clamp assembly like a regular DERVish or something requiring that special tool, the Citroen main dealer wallet puller?

Yes, its a round brillo ring, and the downpipe is secured by 2 long bolts with springs to provide some flexibility.
Theres a kit available from Citroen with new ring, springs, nuts, bolts, washers etc: 179874 £15.20. For some reason we don't do it at GSF [:0]

You might try local motor factors and ask for a fitting kit, that should contain the comp ring new bolts springs etc for around a tenner, then you only need to recruit a trained snake to help you fit it! make sure its for a cit 'TD as the bolts are longer in other apps.
