C4 Coupe rear parking sensor removal

Hello,

my "interior left sensors" has developed a fault and I'm going to replace it. To replace it, I have to pull the old one out, but I can't seem to succeed. It appears it's held in by two plastic clips, but when I bend them, the sensor won't come out. What am I missing, how is the sensor removed?
