Hi all I have read in my Haynes manual that the fuel filter needs to be drained regularly and that the drain screw and washer needs renewing, is the "screw" they are referring to the large knurled knob on the bottom of the filter, it seems odd to have to replace it as it's not strictly a screw, any advice would be welcome
thanks Bill

I've checked the official procedures for the 110 DW10ATED and there is NO mention of replacing ANY screws. So another bit of useless info from the BOL I suspect Bill.

Re: 2000 xantia 2.0hdi fuel filter
Bill,
When owning my Xantia's I never did open that screw to remove water, all I did was change the fuel filter every year and made sure the securing screws on the filter were closed correctly to seal the filter and not let air in.

Thanks Kenny I was just going by the manual (BOL) that tells of terrible things that can befall your engine if water gets into the engine via the fuel filter
