C5 X7 - maintenance at 224000KM

Post by atr »

I'm announced that my C5 X7 2010 RFV engine, is due maintenance in 200km's. unfortunately, I don't have the vehicle's manual, therefor I don't know what has to be done on this maintenance event. could you please let me know? one more thing - as I've mentioned, it is after 224000km's. if I'm not wrong, the timing belt need to be replaced at 240000km (every 120000km/80000miles). would it be a good idea to replace it now, or to wait it out?
Thanx.
Avi

Not sure where you got that from Avi....

On 2.0 Petrol engines the timing belt should be done every 140k Kms or every 10 years under normal conditions or every 112k Kms in 'arduous' conditions.

There are no standard operations model by model - but obviously oil change and filter - however there are mileage related operations which depend on normal or arduous conditions.

Example for your Petrol C5 X7:

Air filter: every 60k kms
Spark Plugs every 60k kms
Check Coolant at 120k kms then every service
Brake Fluid - replace every 2 years
Pollen filter - 20k Kms
The above are for 'Normal' conditions, 'Arduous' conditions i.e. very dusty climates will be sooner.

Most dealer servicing here includes a vehicle health check where pads, discs are checked, fluid levels, operation of lights, joints etc. - but depends where you go for a service.

Hi Avi, Personally, the word that comes to mind is "Everything"..... Check adjust everything you can see, better to be on the safe side especially the bits difficult to get to.
Marc said "Check Coolant at 120k kms then every service", however, when did you last change it, ifyou don't know, then nows the time. I aim for about 50,000 miles(80,,000km),.
Nice to know they can do the mileage.
Oh, I just assumed that you are doing it yourself,

Absolutely right Stu- I just quoted official time intervals for the 2.0 Lt Petrol, but totally agree - if you don't have the service history Avi, then go ahead - but timing is essential and if it hasn't been done yet then it is well overdue.
