Can someone please advise where the flasher relay is loacated on my 2007 C4. The problem of hazard lighting coming on with:-
Unlocking door with remote; and
Opening and closing doors; and
turning on ignition and continuing after starting car.
Lexia does not assist. Employing actuator module in Lexia does not indicate problem.
BSI reset does not fix.
Car has done 50,000 miles (76,000 km). Indicators and hazard with work perfectly.

Re: C4 flasher relay
The flasher ‘relay’ function is incorporated into the BSI. There is no actual relay. The clicking noise you hear when they are operating is actually a fake relay noise generated from a small speaker.

Re: C4 flasher relay
I have changed the alarm setting in the BSI from "UK alarm setting" to "no alarm". I believe I have fixed the problem. Confirms my belief that Australia should be a republic (apologies to Lizzie ll, held in very high esteem by the vast majority of Australians ).
Many thanks to yourself and especially to Marc. If I had followed his suggestion more intelligently weeks ago by carefully checking all the "alarm" settings in the BSI configuration, I would have sorted it out very much quicker.

Re: C4 flasher relay
Marc, As I have replaced my BSI with another from a wrecked vehicle, is it possible to change the mileage to that as shown on the original BSI. If not, maybe it is possible to align the original BSI to the replaced ECU. In other words, how does the pairing work?
Thanks in anticipation.

Re: C4 flasher relay
Hi Don.
Unfortunately not. The BSI talks to the separate instrument panel ECU constantly. In the event that either are changed, they compare notes and whichever has the higher mileage - gets written to the other.
This is the one downside to replacing a BSI with second hand unit if it has a higher mileage than your current one. And of course if you swapped your old one back, the Instrument panel (now updated with the higher mileage from the donor BSI) would simply update your old BSI with the higher mileage.
The only way around this is to find a sympathetic garage with a mileage correction tool. Normally you would have to prove that you have only done the lower mileage though....

Thanks Marc, I will just have to subtract 60,000 kms off the odometer every time I look at it. Simple really!
