Is there a forum post here step by step for someone who is not updating but is installing from a fresh start?

Is there a download of a full version that bypasses the need to install an old version and slowly install updates?

Google suggests version 7.83 with download sites like this

I am using V7.15 (on a rev B chipset) on a Toshiba NB250 running Windows 7 Starter. It has been used on a C5 X7 (I cannot remember the year) to activate the DRLs.

No - updates should be installed incrementally, as the necessary firmware for the VCI is also installed depending on version.

Ignore that - the version of Diagbox is dependent upon the vehicle it will be used on. Generally 7.58 is the most stable and covers vehicles up to December 2014. Version past 7.60 start to remove manual telecoding options

It means you must leave your wireless network adapter switched on and enabled, but do not let it connect to a live internet connection. This is because it needs access to the network adapter to get the hardware MAC info to do with the activation. So just make sure you disconnect from your home internet network during installation, so that it cannot get internet access.
