Gonna buy a used 1995 Citroen AX 1.4 litre, What are things to inspect while buying?
And what are the known issues problems with this car?
Also, would you buy this car or a 1980's Mazda 323/Honda civic/VW Golf MK1?

My father had an earlier 323, which I drove down to Devon when they moved - it was horrible! BUT by the '80's, wasn't it a re-badged Fester?

In your climate ...all the bearings/suspension joints due to dust and sand. Heat as you know damages rubbers..
Check oil pressure, dry and dusty.
Budget for ALL belts, water pump and tensioners.

I'd have the Mazda. The 323 was never a Fiesta. It was a decent motor, even won the RAC rally in the late 80s.

The 121 was a rebadged Fiesta in the 90s

Late '80's maybe but the old man's was a '79 (I think) - & a good 10 years out of date: soooooh agricultural.

I knew about the 121 BUT I'm sure there was also a Ford badged 323, but which version I've no idea.
