Better belts for the workshop

Unread post by white exec »

Have acquired a few belt-driven workshop tools over the years: small and large pedestal drills, and a wood-lathe. All are of the usual Draper-Wickes-Ferm (Chinese) origin, use 10mm v-belts, and have all had vibrating running since new, even after fitting some replacement belts - also of eastern origin, from Justoffbase and the likes.

So, finally decided to lay in some better quality belts, and did an order to these folk, for both Gates and Pix-X'tra items. All were 10mm extra-flexible Vee (Gates toothed on the outside, Pix on the inside):

By-return delivery, and all fitted this morning. The machines have never run so smoothly. Result! :) :)
