Is it safe to use ethanol base fuel in citroen c5 without causing any issue?

Assuming that you are referring to your V6, the ES9 engine is suitable for up to 10% ethanol as standard. 85% ethanol is OK if you fit a suitable tuning box.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I will try and see how it goes. If there is no issue I will keep using ethanol blended fuel.

I should add that you will see slightly worse fuel consumption (compared to petrol with the same octane rating), this is normal and due to the lower energy value of ethanol compared to petrol.

You may also notice that the engine does not pull quite as well for the first minute or so after a cold start, this is also normal and is because the ECU cannot correct the mixture until the O2 sensors go into closed loop mode. On one of my cars I can detect it, on the other I can't.

Can't see any deference between 98RON and E10 95. I will see how much fuel it consumes in next couple of weeks.

Fuel consumption is theoretically about 3% worse with a 10% ethanol blend.
