Opinions, please on both V6 engines for the C5

I may buy a V6Hdi X7 to replace my 2.0Hdi 163 X7.

I think I have read that the 2,7litre engine setup is not as good as the 3,0litre. Anyone have any comments, please?

My dad has had both engines, but both in jaguars. The 3.0 is far quicker and more economical. If you can find one get the 3.0.

I have a 3.0 V6 HDI X7 C5 and a C6 with the same 2.7 V6 HDI engine that the earlier C5 X7 V6's had. Its night and day difference between the two engines. The 2.7 has much more turbo lag, the 3.0 is very responsive. The 3.0 i can also get mid 40's MPG on motorways which for a V6 is good, the 2.7 i get mid 30's if lucky. I'm going to guess the road tax is better with the 3.0 too on the C5 compared to the 2.7. The 3.0 all round is just much much better and worth holding out for.
