Citroen C5 2.0i 2001
Chassis number VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
After changing two pipes one from front absorber mounts and another from HP electric pump to pressure regulator the car front suspension goes up and down every 4seconds. Pipes charged due to leakage at flexible joints to a used ones ( one thick and one more thin one).
After a while we tried to adjust the front height corrector to adjust the height of the front of the car due to the oscillation and the front end of the car couldn’t rise. Rear of car goes up and down when the height setting button is pressed. What could have gone wrong and what is your recommendation to troubleshoot .
Thank you

Re: C5 After changing two pipes
The front suspension up/down can sometimes happen just if it's parked with wheels turned slightly (causes the ARB to twist and then knocks the height sensor just in between two positions which the car then continually over/under corrects for).
I've also had it happen immediately after having had the front of the car off the deck for some servicing work, but driving a short distance has then means it settles down again.
Front suspension now refusing to rise I would suggest is due to having adjusted the front height sensor and put it well out?
Did you adjust it with with the car level, engine running and you (safely) underneath it (e.g car wheels up on blocks/ramps)?
That's the only way to set the suspension correctly by moving the ARB clamp.
If you try to do it by jacking the car up, loosening and moving the clamp, re-tightening, lowering the car down again... You'll end up miles out I imagine.

Re: C5 After changing two pipes
As an aside, according to that VIN, your car was produced in March 2002, (RPO 09269), and was probably late registered as the warranty started 8th June 2004.
So this is a C5 5 DOOR SALOON 2.0 i 16v 138 4-SPEED AUTOMATIC GEARBOX
You should also check your actual heights against the reference values in Lexia. Only anything above 10mm out should initially be changed using the ARB height corrector clamps - unless your height correctors are not providing the correct signal through water corrosion.
Here is the height checking procedure for the Mark I:
Official Tools - but you can improvise:
Measuring the Heights
Wheel Radius Measurement
Adjustment using a diagnostic tool
This adjustment is done when the heights measured are within the tolerance of the calculated heights.
Mechanical pre-adjustment
This adjustment is done when the heights measured are not within the tolerance of the heights calculated (± 10 mm).
Adjusting the heights using tools [3] or [4]

- Connect Lexia / Diagbox to the vehicle’s diagnostic socket.
- Go into the menu:
- Access Suspension ECU / Manual Configuration / Adjust Reference Heights
