Citroen C5 Facelift 2007 2.0 Hdi Exclusive Auto Headlights not working

Post by Bob_V »

I have two C5s. Both 2007 model 2.0 Hdi Exclusive. One is an Estate, the other a Hatchback.

My problem is that the Automatic Headlights on the Hatchback (a recent acquisition) do not switch on automatically.

On the Hatchback the option is missing in the Configuration Menu (Configure Lighting) to turn on the Automatic Headlights or to enable the Follow me Home option.

The Directional Headlights option is present and works correctly.

Both of these missing menu options are present on the Estate.

Neither car has a accessories position on the ignition switch and depressing the button on the left hand indicator stalk has no effect on either car.

I have a Lexia with Diagbox and have tested all the functions of the Comms unit below the steering wheel but all seems in order.

Is there a configuration setting somewhere that enables the Automatic Headlamps and Follow me Home options that I can access and change with the Lexia?

Help is needed please.

Bob.

Have you looked in the display menus? (Press MENU button on the Radio) I think the automatic headlight option is in the Personalisation section.
I think those options are in the BSI configurations in Lexia

Yes, the display menu is the place to start - these would of been configured as operational at factory for Xenons. Most of your functions are accessed via the menu button and then configuration IIRC, as Mike says.

Thanks for the fast response.

As I said in my original post. The options to turn the Auto headlights on or off are missing in the configuration menu on the Display Screen.

All other configuration options are present.

This is the fourth C5 Exclusive I have bought. Fantastic cars. The first two had Navidrive RT3 . The second and third 2007 models have Navidrive RT4 which is much better.

Never had a missing item on any of the menus before.

Probably need to spend a few hours going through the various options on the ECUs to see if I can spot anything.

OK Problem solved.
After much poking about with my Lexia I found that the 'Brightness Sensor' was flagged as 'missing' on the car with the fault. The car without the fault the sensor was flagged as 'present'. This parameter was well hidden in the BSI Configuration. When changed to 'present' the missing menu items appeared correctly and could be configured. Not only that but the Automatic Lighting actually works. I am now a happy chappy.

Now just got to find out why my Turbo Pressure Copy Signal (fault 2562) and Turbo Pressure Signal (fault 0299) are low.

I'll get this car sorted eventually.
