2008 C5 saloon exclusive chrome boot strip/trim

Unread post by mikal »

I backed the feckin frog machine into a post a while ago and crazed the chrome trim on the rear. Only the exclusive has it.

I've looked and looked. Its mega bucks from a dealer, so am obviously looking for a cheaper source.

Any help??

Cheers

Doubtful you'll get these anywhere else apart from a Breaker - and the issue is that the clips may snap if they are removed, unless you first take the bumper off and unclip and push them out from the inside!

Which part is it from the diagram? 15 or 8?

X7 Saloon PartsAs you can see, the corner trims are actually bolted on at (2) and with clips shown at (a)

From that fig, I'd say 15, 18 might be the clips. IF I can find one, I'll prob just pry the fecker off and glue new one on. BUT trying to find one...is a bugger. I think citroen dealers want 80+ squids

Yes, £78.20, inc VAT, part number: 7452WG :-D
Very doubtful you will get one from a breaker off the bumper because anyone wanting a replacement bumper would have to have this same part and that would leave them with an unsaleable part.

It may be as cheap to buy the whole bumper....

I think........... with a little patience, you can get to the clips from the underside of the car, without removing the bumper, but then again removing then rear bumper is fairly easy. but so is just dropping the lower valance to get better access.

Isn't item 15 the chrome strip that sticks on the bottom of the boot lid rather than the bumper?
If so then I managed to get one for my X7 Tourer from somebody in Poland via Ebay for about 25 quid.
(The Tourer didn't have one as standard but I backed into a post and the paintless dent-removal guy was only 90% successful!)
