Xantia current drain, fuse diagram info wanted please

Post by andy5 »

Hi. Does anyone have easily to hand the Xantia X2 owner manual with a diagram and list of fuse functions, that they might be able to photo and post on here?

I seem to have mislaid mine somewhere in the house.

The car has a very occasional mystery current drain of about 3A, and with a multimeter and friend's help I've narrowed it down to similar circuit as radio, clock, central locking and other unknown items. Two fuses will turn the above specified things off, green and red, but only the green cuts the drain, so still a bit of figuring out to go.

At least now I don't need to remove a battery lead every night, just pull the fuse instead, but I'd be grateful if anyone can find the info before I do.

Andy, Xantia Wiring Info is very limited unfortunately - but have a look on this thread, where Jim has provided some diagrams - if you have a look at these you may find some of the info you need. If you have your VIN, I will see if there is anything else listed that I can find.

That was page 2 - there are a few more links on page 1, but there are also some pics of the handbook fuses here:

There may well be others - just browse that topic.

Thanks, that might give me something to start with, but just to check, are series 1 and series 2 fuses the same layout?

Apart from the returned problem now, which is only the second time in a year, I've had an issue of the central locking reopening either immediately or a few minutes later, usually only in hotter weather, so anyway I've been used to pulling out a fuse when parking. Maybe these issues are related, maybe not.

The are certainly electrical differences between S1 & S2 Xantias - Apart from the new design, S2 had new engines and new electronics to go with them of course, but unfortunately I can't tell you where the differences are.

BUT - I did find this link - switch between series 1 and series 2 at the top (the fuses do change I checked) Hopefully this might be correct...

This may help check the fuses (unless you are already doing this)

Thanks. I'd found that before, and slightly dismissed it, but looking again it's more similar than I initially thought, about half a dozen values different though, and some the same some different function on the 3 or 4 I just checked.

I worked down the left column first then the right. The one I pulled that cut the problem was the F8/F23, which probably covers quite a lot, so I should get some help to finish off and check nos 9 to 16, see if that narrows things down.
