Glowplug light stays on
2001 1.9 dispatch van , The glowplug light just stays on and even after a good while does not go out unless the engine is started which is another pain in the but as i thing i need to have a word with the fuel shut of valve , Anybody have any idea why the light remains on ?

Maybe glow plug relay gone to earth ?

The glow-plug light is controlled by the GP relay.
Internal and external contacts can become corroded or faulty.
Straightforward to open up and clean the internal ones, and check for free movement.
