Phoney BT calls
I've just had one of these telling me that my Broadband has a problem, I let him take me through the usual patter to go to event viewer, then he asked what I saw on the screen, I told him that it was telling me that he wasn't calling from BT, he insisted that he was, I told him it was now telling me he was a telephone scammer and rang off.
I don't have BT broadband.

Try going ex-directory and registering with TPS - we don' get any of these Gibbo I'm pleased to say.

I'm not bothered enough to go that way Marc, just the occasional pest.

I suppose it gives you something to do by winding them up and wasting their time - plus a great deal of payback satisfaction value

I'm registered with TPS and have been for 20 years or more, still get these calls, sometimes several in a week.
I've asked them for gardening tips, left the phone on the toilet cistern while having a "long sit", asked them to call me back on Scotland Yard's serious fraud unit number. You'd think they would have my number marked as a waste of time by now.

Of course the other thing you need to do is never give your home number out on any contracts or forms- always use a mobile.
