ADBlue anyone?

Unread post by Gibbo2286 »

Just seen in my local Tesco on the clearance shelf 10 litres AdBlue for £10.00.

If it were near to me I'd have it in a heartbeat.

Our 308 gave its first warning that top-up would be needed soon so I looked around for prices. I went to Ebay first for prices of 10l and 20l containers and then I thought I wold try our local motor factors.

Now I don't know about your area but here we have lost a good 2/3 of local factors since twenty years ago with some partial take-up of the slack with national chains. I was advised by a friend who is still in the motor trade to try General Traffic - of whom I had never heard - for AdBlue. Cutting it short I bought 20l for £13.99 plus vat - £16.79 which was their Trade (Cash) price. Some places are selling a 10l bottle for about that price!

They have branches in the north-west and midlands of England so, if you have one nearby, it might be worth trying them for a price on whatever you're looking for.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

I think even Halfords are flogging 10l for £11, so not too bad if desperate and in urgent need.

That would be the only reason.

Nope, never. We had the last recharge with a few hundred miles to spare before we went on summer holiday last year. The warning came a bit earlier this time.

My local Citroen main dealer had a fixed price Adblu top up for £9.99.
This offer is there for all Citroen & Peugeot dealers to offer if they wish.

While I waited they gave me a coffee and washed my car.

Is there a maximum amount that they'll top up to? I needed to put about 15 litres in - I doubt they wold have done that.

If it's the same offer they were doing in 2017, they'll top up 10L for £9.99.
