C5 X7 Tourer

Post by jrblue »

Hi all,
I have been following this forum for some time 'in the background', a wealth of info and help. =D>
The time has come for me to part with my 2008 C5 X7 Tourer 2.7 hdi exclusive as I now have a company car, I have had it for 2 years now, bought it from a main Citroen dealer (workshop manager used it)… but I am finding it so hard to put a price on it #-o I have looked at Parkers etc and they say between £2k and £4.5k... mine is very clean, all the bells and whistles, full service history, apart from a few scuffs on each alloy wheel it is in really good nick. Mileage, just over 100k - went to Germany last week it purred along the autobahns... obviously without seeing it in the flesh it is hard to put a price on it, but can anybody help??

I've mentioned this before in another thread, it seems to be as good as you'll get for valuations.

Supply and demand - it's also about what somebody will pay if they want one - and the mileage of course and what's been done on it. Good fully spec'd Exclusives will fetch more - I had to wait a year until the right one came onto market that I wanted with the particular options and I snapped it up!

That's always been the case Marc, on my used car patch I had all the stuff none of the other traders would touch, made a good living from oddball stuff whilst the others were all stocking Cortinas and Cavaliers chasing tiny margins.

I think the op's problem is the current anti diesel media and 'greenie' brigade, plus the high road tax and insurance on his car.

My advice would be to stick a top whack price on it and sit back for a while, see what happens, someone will come along with a decent offer.

Agree 100% - it is what it is worth to somebody and if you find an enthusiast who has been looking for the right one then everyone's a winner.

Yes I'm sick of hearing about the demonisation of Diesel cars in particular - I wish they'd all GiveUsABreak!
