I'm not sure if there is one on the block. I just removed the bottom radiator pipe and opened the bleed valves.

Re: Coolant drainage plug location
Elis is right - no drain plug as such, but here are the components of the system and at the bottom what they say to drain it. 4 Tables - 2 for the manual and 2 for the AM6 box, depending on whether fitted with additional heating or not:
Remove: The protective panel under the engine (where fitted) The de-aeration chamber plug (Carefully) Place a clean tray underneath the engine to recover the coolant. Uncouple the pipe (1) (at "a") ; Using tool [0165-2]. Open the bleed screws located on the coolant outlet housing and the heater pipe. Allow the coolant to run out. Drain the cylinder block (if necessary). |

Re: Coolant drainage plug location
Those are just the plugs and they don't even mention those for the official draining and filling of the cooling system. Just suction or gravity, but glad you have found what you wanted regardless

Re: Coolant drainage plug location
That would be great
I recently had my timing belt, water pump and tensioners changed but I took it to the Citroen dealer after looking through the official procedure. It seemed to be a huge job doing it by the book and I got a pretty good price all in.
Good luck!

Good luck!

Ok, at least you'll have the tools for next time. I paid £410 for everything including labour at the Citroen dealer so I won't complain. Although it is something I would like to have done myself.
The glow plugs are very difficult to change from what I have read. They are located around the back of the head so are almost unreachable. In addition, they have a bad reputation for breaking off in the head meaning a potentially huge job to remove the glow plug fragment should it drop into the cylinder
Do you actually need to change the glow plugs? because if not I would just leave them.
Could you take a picture of the coolant drain bolt you found?

Re: Coolant drainage plug location
I'll reveal you little trick for glow plugs: soak little bit of cotton wool in oil and put around glow plugs. Leave few days and than untighten them with wrench, but not exceed 35Nm and engine must be warm. If it doesn't go, leave few more days than try again. Block drain plug is number 9 in pdf

Thanks for that PDF.
It is good advice if it is the glow plug thread that is the problem. It is the glow plug tip that snaps off unfortunately so for this some specialised tools have to be used.
I’m going to leave mine in until they die…. And then probably never replace them

Re: Coolant drainage plug location
If tip breakes clean hole with compressed air and than push the tip in cylinder. Remove injector and with small magnet pull it out. One hour job, i know guy who managed to remove few broken tips that way. I just saw last sentence...
