xm alarm

xm 1998 vsx turbo the alarm goes off at random after it has been armed. any one had similar problem or could suggest the cause.also if anyone out there could tell me if it takes batteries or where its located on the car i would be grateful.

It will not take batteries. It can be shut off with a key - On my car it's at the rear RHS of the engine bay near the RHS suspention sphere behind cover. It's got a label BOSCH ALARM. You can try to disarm the motion sensors: when the doors are closed and the ignition off before leaving the vehicle press the motion sensors button (labelled something like o)))))))) ) until the red LED for the alarm comes on. When you then leave the vehicle and trigger the alarm the motion sensors will be off.
