Bonjour. Bought an old 2004 Xsara Picasso (2.0 16V petrol automatic with aircondition). The fan is spinning max and the aircon control panel doesn't react on anything. I tried unmounting and disconnecting the hole a/c panel in the middle and unplugged all the fuses under the steering wheel, but, it's just blowing max whenever I start the car? I just want to STOP it, so where do I take the power to the fans?
I saw all the videos about the transistor problem, regarding Xsaras with manual aircondition, who only worked on max, but a least could be turned of on the switch. This seems a little different, and a lot more complicated. Even the guys at at Citroën garage couldn't figure it out (they only looked at diagrams ect. on their computers!).
The good thing: It's like flying Concord when I-m driving...
Your expertise would be highly appreciated, gentlemen.
Merci

Anderson, if you post or PM your VIN, I’ll have a look at the diagrams.

Vehicle Identification Number. It will (to those with the relevant Citroen access) allow access to the information that shows what the car had fitted when she left the factory.
The most common places for the VIN are through a small window in the black surround of the windscreen (viewed from the outside, at the bottom edge, typically on the right when viewed from front outside of the vehicle) or stamped into the lip of the wing of the car when the bonnet is raised (left side when viewed from the front outside of the car).

It contains 17 alphanumeric characters shown in a little window on the windscreen near the location arrowed in yellow: It will begin VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]......Anders Rohweder wrote: ↑27 Apr 2018, 09:19 Wow, quick reply there, Marc, but VIN? what's that (I'm scandinavian and car-lingo is difficult.-)

So you have the automatic Air Conditioning System with Climate Control. The Blower unit should be controlled by Fuse number F18 arrowed in yellow on the diagram. It is located on the Engine Fuse Box and is a 40 Amp fuse.
You obviously have seen the videos on repairing the Blower Motor - but this should be the Fuse if you simply want to stop it.

It needs a new blower controller unit with the resistors on. It's the same unit as the Berlingo and Xantia. The diodes fail and the motor runs full speed. Happened to me 3 times. You can buy a new one off eBay for about £12 or 120 SK

Be careful with the e-bay ones, many are fitted with PNP transistors rather than the required NPN ones (MJ1105 IIRC)...

GiveMeABreak...sorry, but I love you!
I finally got silence in the Millennium Falcon...ah!
and thank you to RichardW and Michel for important notes!
Next step is to actually make this a/c work without spending a million. The a/c panel is dead after I took it apart yesterday... but right now I just want to take a quiet ride (an listen to all the other weird sounds i.e bad metal-crunching sound when I turn left. But hey..I bought this spaceship for € 600,- so what can you expect from and old lady like that from 2004 with 'only' 196.000 km experience.-)
