Oh dear,

Did you hit a particularly nasty bump to be the final straw?

How did you get it home?

Retire the car to scrap yard heaven or going to repair it?

Stickyfingers Activa is red, I think that's an old picture of someone elses that I'm sure I've seen around before...

Oh sorry....

NOT my car, this is a recent happening apparently
Rust was the cause not a large bump
They need new strut mounts welded in if they have got that bad.

Methinks Citroen certainly knew it was a possibility, hence the dual bonnet catch setup... A timely reminder, as (hopefully) more Xantiae will be hitting the road come the nice weather 8-)

I remember seeing that pic a couple of years back, you'd think they would have found a longer lasting/safer solution given the amount of time (presumably since the XM was released) they've had to work around potential strut top failures like that.

Looks like another one has bitten the dust recently as well, from reading VmaxVmax's post...

Really need to take a closer look at mine - especially given how loud the creaking from the offside one has got lately!

Luckily I have a good spare pair that just need some good rustproofing before fitting...
