Xantia manual required

Unread post by Farmcit »

Hi all,

Having recently purchased a very low mileage (actually 'kilometeradge' here) Xantia estate I am looking for a proper manual. Yes, I have searched but none of the links work or are current. Yes I understand reluctance to publish this openly but I am just about keeping this car in good health I'm not making a scrap of money out of it - if that is an issue please PM me with a link or copy. I would be most grateful.

This car is a series 2 16v and has done 36,000km in 19 years but has lacked any specialist servicing. For example, the rear spheres were completely flat and the previous owner "wasn't sure" if there was a problem. The cambelt was way overdue for time, the LHM has never been changed etc etc. I'm slowly getting it up to date.

Thanks,

Farmcit.

Farmcit, the Xantia Haynes manual (the BoL as we call it here) is not a great deal of use and this forum is a far better 'manual' in reality... Many of us on here know them inside-out and can advise and answer far more than any manual can...

We have practical experience of just about any Xantia job!

The proper Citroen-supplied to dealers Xantia manual is actually a huge document spread across seven or 8 A4 binders... Several are of wiring diagrams...

Anything you specifically need from the manuals, especially wiring diagrams, I'm happy to scan and make available to you - within reason!

The best thing to do with the Xantia Haynes manual is in your bathroom, and not as reading material... as Jim says, this forum is the best source of information. I've used it for all my Xantias and never had reason to use a manual.

I still recommend a manual too. If you are down in the garage and need a spec or drawing etc, you have the book.

I think the post from here to 0Z will kill it? They can be picked up here in charity shops for £1. That is where and how much I paid for my Xantia and C5 Haynes manuals.

TBH I always find Haynes at least partly useful - for one, it lists all the torque settings etc. so it's always worth having.
