P0420 code

Unread post by dumpvalve »

Hello all I'm trying to track down my issue regarding the Fuel Access Flap Open on the dash , looking into this deeper after buying a Lexia 3 ive noticed today a P0420 code saying ..Differential Exhaust Pressure Signal.. when I look into the pull down menu it says , Particle Filter Overload, is this the DPF , or the Cat...

Thanks
Andy

That's the particle filter. Have a look at the live data - what does it say the pressure drop is engine off, then engine started at idle, then at 3k rpm?

Thank you Richard I'm going to have a look today and hopefully do a DPF regen... I presume this can be done with my Lexia

You can do a forced regen from Lexia; however, if if it's too blocked, or there is a fault indicated it may not allow you to do it. Make sure the car is not on tarmac, and there is nothing behind it when you do it.....

If there are any fault codes associated with the emissions or engine, the Engine ECU probably will not allow it. This is so it can protect the engine and its components. A manual regeneration takes a toll on the engine and is not recommended very often, as it really shouldn’t be needed with the additive system, so long as the vehicle is not continuously driven on short start stop journeys all the time.

So until you can resolve the problem, it won’t allow a regen to take place.
