Spotted a headlight bulb was out earlier today, so popped down to the local motor factor and picked one up. Back home, expecting having to dismantle half of the front end to fit it....but no, pleasantly surprised at how easy it was! However, I noticed the sound of something whirring away under the bonnet after I'd switched off and popped the bonnet - can't say I've noticed it before. Whatever it was continued for perhaps a couple of minutes, then stopped.
Any ideas folks?!
Pete

Electro Hydraulic Pump, or the BSI going to sleep and shutting down the other systems, like the heater / air mixer motor flaps. If you stay in the car long enough after switching the ignition off, you’ll probably hear the same noise if it’s those.

My C5 does that, I dump an old neighbour at the post office for her pension and sit in the car waiting, frequently get whirring and clicking noises at random intervals from somewhere up front, I just ignore them.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

I've always assumed it was the hamster wheel that runs the dynamo that powers the electrics in the C5 slowing down 'cos the poor things are out of breath
Sadly no longer a C5 owner
