Citroen c5 2 2007 auto wipers problem

I have a problem with the auto wipers in citroen c5 2 2007, when it on auto position it gives message that auto wipers is deactivated and when i move it up to any other position it gave a message that it's activated and on the both cases it's not not working automatically please help me with it

That sounds like a dodgy switch problem. The auto wipers are bad enough at the best of times (I wish mine had intermittent settings!) but not working at all is a big pain.

If you have the ability to get into the switches (i.e. you know how to pull the steering wheel off), it could be that they need a bit of a clean out with some of that electirical contact spray stuff, and all will be well again. Or, if that doesn't work, a new switch. They're not too expensive...

I found that they were so dammed annoying on my Mk1 C5 that I went into the BSI settings and changed something (it was years ago!) so that the BSI thought that it didn't have the rain sensor. The auto setting then became a simple intermittent option and much better because of it.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.
