One for the IT whizz kids.

Unread post by Gibbo2286 »

In my box of disks I've got a set of Learn Spanish/French etc. interactive CDs quite old and there's nothing on the web about them, when I go to the file list and click on set up it loads Quicktime 7 which is no longer about or supported by Apple.

It goes through the motions then arrives at a blank screen, blue background but not a BSD.

This is the file list:

ASRAP12 File folder
LSSE File folder
QTW File folder
SPGE File folder
INS0672.LIB Library file 44Kb
INTRO.LIS LIS file 3Kb
LLSE60 WinRAR Archive 3408 Kb
SETUP Application 268Kb
SETUP INS file 69Kb
SETUP.PKG PKG file 1Kb
SPGE WinRAR archive 2197Kb

Any suggestions how I can make use of it or is it for the bin?

This link suggests that either 7.6 or the latest version will install: Quicktime Win 10. If you install this first, then hopefully the CDs will not try an install an earlier version (although you may need to do a custom install to stop it).
